Submissions that do not conform to the ACM standards, specifications, and formats will be returned to the author for corrections and/or alterations. |

| Submission
Deadlines and Preparation of Copy All ACM sponsored proceedings will be included in the ACM Digital Library as well as prepared for printed publication. All papers for the conference must be submitted in an electronic format which conforms to ACM specifications. CIKM'02 requires that one registration form/fee payment/submission are received by September 3, 2002 for each accepted paper. Any paper that does not satisfy this condition will not be included in the proceedings. For regular papers, the page limit is eight (8) pages, plus up to four (4) extra pages which may be purchased for US$150 per extra page. For poster papers and industry track papers, the page limit is three (3) pages, plus one (1) extra page which may be purchased for US$150. Any extra page fees are due together with your registration. Registration information will be available on the Web (at http://www.cikm.org/2002). |

NOTES TO ALL AUTHORS: The following sections in all of the ACM templates are mandatory sections and should be filled in properly by the authors:

General Terms: This section is limited to the following 16 terms: Algorithms, Management, Measurement, Documentation, Performance, Design, Economics, Reliability, Experimentation, Security, Human Factors, Standardization, Languages, Theory, Legal Aspects, Verification.
Keywords: This section is your choice of terms you would like to be indexed by.
Title of Your Submission Should be Initial Caps -- meaning first letter of main words should be made a capital letter.

Your actual source file is needed (.doc, .fm and .tex), to extract text and data to produce
information and metadata for ACM's digital library. B.
Submissions that do not conform to the ACM standards and formats will be
returned to the author for corrections and/or alterations.
Also
be sure that there are no bad page or column breaks--meaning no widows (last
line of a paragraph at the top of a column). If this happens either tighten
the previous column or force a line over. Section
and Sub-section heads should remain with at least 2 lines of body text when
near the end of a page or column. Also,
be sure that your .ps file is formatted for American Letter (8-1/2x11).

USERS:
1.
Please download the template from the ACM website: http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html. 2.
Name your .doc file using your CIKM Paper # with the lead author's last
name (example: p02-jones.doc / p02-jones.pdf). Be sure to format your document for American
Letter (8-1/2x11). Please check that your submission adheres to the set page
limit for your type of submission (see above)
3.
Insert the ACM copyright statement (CIKM-blurb,).
This statement should appear in 8 pt. Times New Roman, justified text, with CIKM'02
italicized. See the attached pdf as an example: CIKM-blurb
4.
You need to submit via email to Sheridan Printing, your .doc file as an attachment (you may also
include a pdf file) on or before September
3rd, 2002. Kindly include the conference name and
paper # in the subject line. 5.
You also need to submit a signed ACM Copyright Form.
LaTEX
USERS: 1. Please use option#2--sig-alternate class file
from the ACM website (http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html)
or the class file that is attached --
(both of these class files are tighter formats and automatically inserts the
ACM copyright statement and conference info that is needed)].
Insert the following three lines are
inserted in your .tex document after \begin{document} to produce the correct
copyright statement and info:

user, please use Type 1 fonts, for help see: http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/sigfaq.htm#a14 for
help. If you still have difficulty check with your system administrator. 3.
Please include all text (including references from the .bbl file) into one
complete .tex document. We do not want a directory of multiple files, one
file with all text from your submission. We do not need the figures. We are
not recompiling your submission, only using the one source file to extract
text and data that we need to make the metadata for ACM's digital library. 4.
Name your .tex and .ps file using your CIKM
Paper # with the lead author's last
name (example: p02-jones.tex / p02-jones.ps). Be sure to format your
document for American Letter (8-1/2x11). Please check that your submission adheres to the set page

USERS:

.fm file match the specifications outlined in the WORD template, available

Name your .fm file using your CIKM Paper # with the lead author's last
name (example: p02-jones.fm / p02-jones.ps).. Be sure to format your document for
American Letter (8-1/2x11). Please check that your submission adheres to the set page
limit for your type of submission (see above)
3.
Authors using
FrameMaker, there is a text file (CIKM-blurb,) attached with the ACM copyright information that needs to be inserted in
the bottom/left of the first page in 8 pt. Times Roman, note that CIKM'02
is italicized. The CIKM-blurb is attached so you can see the
layout.
4.You need to submit
via email to Sheridan Printing, your .fm and .ps files as
attachments (you may also
include a pdf file) on or before
September 3rd, 2002. Kindly include the conference
name and paper # in the subject line. 5.
You also need to submit a signed ACM Copyright Form.

ACM requires your original signature on a hardcopy of the copyright release
form. The form itself can be downloaded from: http://www.acm.org/pubs/copyright_form2sheridan.html The
title, authors and publication must be filled in at the top and signed at
the bottom. Be sure that your title on the form matches the title on your
submission, or a new form will be requested. Only one form is needed
with the lead or contact author's original signature must be received on or before
September 3rd, 2002 to:
